On November 29th, the Caesars Foundation of Floyd County awarded 34 grants to agencies that support citizens of Floyd County, Indiana. $350,000 was allocated to support these organizations, and The Foundation awarded Down Syndrome of Louisville (DSL) $17,500 to fund programs for people who have Down syndrome. In 2011, DSL merged with the Down Syndrome Support Association of Southern Indiana and established a second Lifelong Learning Center in New Albany. Since then, DSL has provided programming and resources to people who have Down syndrome and their families in Southern Indiana. This grant will help DSL further develop programming in Floyd County and surrounding counties as part of our mission to support, educate, and advocate for people who have Down syndrome.

According to the Caesars Foundation of Floyd County’s website, “In 1999, the Caesars Riverboat Casino Foundation was incorporated as a non-profit charitable organization. They quickly established guidelines and policies for grants, a grants committee for Floyd County citizens, and biennial grant cycle for the foundation. Shortly after the foundation began to make its mark in Floyd county.” To learn more about The Foundation’s impact, visit their website caesarsfoundationfc.org.
