The Future is Bright at DSL!

We have some exciting news to share!

Over the past several months, Down Syndrome of Louisville (DSL) has been quietly laying the groundwork for something meaningful through the early, “silent phase” of a capital campaign. During this time, our team has engaged in a behind-the-scenes fundraising effort that typically takes place before any broader public announcement. This approach is common in major fundraising campaigns and allows strong momentum to be built before inviting the full community into the conversation.

Today, we’re proud to offer a glimpse into that progress.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

On Friday, May 15th, DSL was recognized by Mayor Greenberg as the recipient of a $1 million commitment from the state. Combined with other early commitments, this brings us to approximately 37% of our overall fundraising goal, a strong and encouraging start that reflects real belief in our mission and our future.

What We’re Building

This campaign is about expanding what’s possible for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

We are working toward a transformative investment in our space, one that will allow us to serve more individuals and deepen the reach of what we offer at every stage of life. This is about growing with our community, responding to increasing needs, and ensuring DSL is equipped not just for today, but for the future so that every individual we serve has the opportunity to shine brighter than ever!

What Comes Next

We’ll continue building momentum in this early phase. When the time is right, we look forward to inviting our full community into this effort and sharing a more complete vision for what’s ahead.

In the meantime, if you’d like to learn more or have any questions, please reach out directly to DSL’s Executive Director, Taylor Ingram.

Your support, in every form it takes, is what makes all of this possible.

Thank you for being part of this journey!
