Board Spotlight – Meet Wes

  • Raised to live in a way that must have reason and purpose.wes
  • DSL: My background in having a cousin with down syndrome, working a couple of Special Olympics State games with my aunt while growing up, and coaching the Louisville Jazz, a basketball team with many members of DSL has lead me to want a further connection to DSL and the community around it.
  • The time I have spent coaching the Louisville Jazz has been my favorite coaching(I coach a lot) experience to date, and it is directly because of the team. When you have guys like David Desanctis, Grant Gupton, Michael Bush, and Byron Lukins, it makes practices and games a lot more fun. I feel so fortunate to have this “job” coaching with a friend of mine, and am now lucky enough to get to extend my support of my guys to being on the board at DSL. David Desanctis did tell me he is in charge at DSL, so all my efforts are to make him happy! Hope I can live up to his expectations.
  • Personal: Have been married to Lori(Moyer) for 13 years. Both of us are from Louisville. We have 3 children: Jameson(11, boy), Kenton(10, boy) and Leighton(8, girl). We try to stay active with a fun work/life balance, and our 2022 goal is to say the word “NO” a lot less.
    • I’m a St. X and Bellarmine grad.
    • I enjoy hiking, trail running, platform tennis and golf.
    • I’m a catholic and enjoy being active at my church(Holy Trinity).
    • I enjoy time with my family and friends
    • I’m an IT solutions provider
    • My goal in life is to make each day feel the same. Monday = Saturday
