Academy Members from Down Syndrome of Louisville Embrace Gardening
The Academy members from Down Syndrome of Louisville have embarked on a gardening journey, showcasing their determination and love for nature. By cultivating their own garden, these individuals have discovered a newfound sense of independence, community, and accomplishment.
Gardening has proven to be a therapeutic activity for the Academy members from Down Syndrome of Louisville, fostering independence and valuable skills. With the support of dedicated staff and volunteers, these exceptional individuals have found purpose and joy in nurturing plants, cultivating a green thumb along the way.
The Academy members proudly showcased the results of their hard work with an array of fresh vegetables and lettuce harvested from their garden. This week they hosted a “salad party” for members and staff with their lettuce, radishes, and snap peas they harvested.
