Tutor and Student Spotlight

John Hammon and Byron Lukins

John and Byron have been tutoring partners for over a year. They meet weekly to work on Byron’s academic goals. John is a humanities teacher at Iroquois High School. He is the proud dad of two great kids, Abby (2) and Owen (6). Owen has Down syndrome and loves coming to DSL. John loves to hike, run marathons and eat at new restaurants around Louisville. Even with such a busy life he still finds time to volunteer with us at DSL. Byron is taking classes at JCTC, and has a job as a soccer coach at Mockingbird Valley. He has three brothers and a girlfriend named Jackie.

Thanks, John! Thanks Byron! You are a great example of how our tutoring program matches tutors and students.
